ArtSites Design is run by freelance web designer and artist Isabel Albiol Estrada who graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2006. We are based in Hackney Wick (London) and specialise in designing and constructing affordable portfolio websites for Artists, Designers and Art Galleries for which we provide individual and personal service. Each of our web designs is tailored to the client specifications and needs.

Having been trained as Fine Artists, we have a good understanding of what artists and designers want on their websites. We belive that an Artist' website should be a showcase for the work, providing information and a platform to display images online. The focus should be on the artist and the artist’s work – the web design should be subtle, very much in the background, but at the same time powerfully conveying the message and images that the artist wants to show to the world. In order to achive this we based the design of our artist websites on the following principles:

• - Simple navigation systems which are intuitive for the visitor to use
• - Good graphic design that ensures that the site looks great and gives a positive impression
• - Easy to read text fonts
• - Minimal use of background images which can distract from the content
• - Quick to appear, avoiding annoying flash animations that take ages to load
• - The code used in our static sites is search engine friendly and easy for a web designer to update

We understand that many people are not familiar with the web, and the website design process and we aim to make the journey as easy as possible for you – taking time to explain each step. No query is too trivial. We welcome your questions and will do our best to provide answers in simple, jargon free language. We can design your site so that you can make simple updates to contribute to it's development. Once the site is build we can show you how to do that. However, unless you update your site on a regular basis you might forget how to do so. Also updating any website can be a time consuming exercise requiring a basic level of computer expertise (don't believe other web design companies say!). But don't panic!
